 Wirksworth Town Council is holding a DROP IN EVENT

  At the Town Hall,

Saturday 1st September 10am to 2pm


A chance to look at the plans for 151 houses off Cromford Road and make comments to the Town Council prior to their discussions on this important application.


The plans can also be viewed via the internet at



The deadline for direct responses to Derbyshire Dales District Council closed on 22nd August

The Town Council has negotiated an extension for its response, to be made by 18th September.

If you are unable to attend the Town Council drop in event you may also send your comments in via email (enquiries@wirksworth.gov.uk).  A copy of the comments sheet which will be used at the drop event can be found here.  In addition,  the discussion document prepared by the tarmac liaison group who are working are providing guidance to the Town Coucnil can be found here.

Hiring the Hall

Main Hall

We have  two buildings with rooms to hire on an hourly basis, and the newly renovated Fanny Shaw's Community Building (FSCB) which is operated on a key loan system. 

Town Hall:- The Main Hall is large, suitable for a variety of uses - dance, exercise, large meeting space, wedding reception, family parties, musical events, etc, whilst other rooms - the Club Room, Ante Room, Council Chamber, are suited to smaller classes/groups. All rooms are available for hire during the day & evening during week days & weekends.  

Memorial Hall:- the Hall & Kitchen are available to hire for meetings, parties, fayres, events and classes/groups, during the day & evening during week days and weekends.

FSCB:- Available via a key loan system for use by groups such as:- parents, schools, nurseries, scouts & not-for-profit groups holding events on Fanny Shaw's park.
