Meadows Progress (as at 28.1.20)

The purchase of the Meadows was completed on 4th January 2020.

The Town Council are hoping to have the 1st round of consultation forms ready shortly after beginning of February.

This 1st stage will take the form of an open question...

" What should we do with the Meadows".

We are using this stage to get your ideas to shape and inform the next more focussed phase of consultation.

Your responses will need to be limited to 100 words, feel free to be creative, give multiple ideas and suggestions... BUT please make them as legible as possible as we obviously have to read them all !

These ideas will then be collated and categorised, which will then be subject to further consultation,  with the intention that this will then lead to a shortlist of final design(s) to be drawn up.

Please bookmark this page as regular updates about the project will appear here.

Update regarding the Town Council's bid for the Meadows:

“The fantastic news is that Wirksworth TC bid has been accepted.

There was wonderful support from residents and organisations within the town.

Thank you very much for your astonishingly generous contributions of more than £40,000, committed over a very short time period. From its operating reserves the town council committed £55,000, as well as £16,500 from other funds it controls. This enabled us to put in a bid of £112,500.

Once again Wirksworth has risen to the challenge. We can now move forward in consultation across the town to decide how to manage the area to benefit us and future generations.  ”

Cllr Andy Jordan, Mayor of Wirksworth - 12th November 2019
